The countryside goes to the city.
In September, in particular, in the month that closes the summer, food fairs are a tradition, born of the need to stock up for the winter and today of delicacies to eat in front of the fireplace.
In Lucca, the Mostra dell'Agricoltura e del Territorio (Agriculture and Territory Fair) is traditionally hosted in the loggia of Palazzo Pretorio, overlooking Piazza San Michele, the historical site of the city markets.
The exhibition, organised by the “Strada del vino e dell'olio di Lucca, Montecarlo e Versilia” (Wine and Oil Road of Lucca, Montecarlo and Versilia), showcases the best wines from the producers of the DOC consortium of the Lucchese hills, the DOC of Montecarlo and also the producers of the Versilia coastline. Small productions of high quality that are gaining international recognition and are part of the catalogue of the Great Crus of the Tuscan coast.
The wines will also be served for tasting by FISAR and AIS Sommeliers, for a pleasant break during the walk and also to recover a special holiday “souvenir” to enjoy once back home.
For this not-to-be-missed occasion, bartender Mauro Picchi has created a new delicate cocktail for this Lucca event that is just waiting to be put to the test.
The exhibition will be open until 30 September, every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
